Looking to learn more about cooking? Would you like to take a free cooking class at Williams Sonoma? Well come on out on a Sunday in October 2010 for one of Williams-Sonoma’s free in-store cooking & technique classes. The specific times may vary from place to place, and you’ll need to RSVP. The hour-long culinary arts technique classes will take place on october 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 . October has a good variety of classes — Oct.3: Chuck’s Classics–Celebrating Founder’s Day, Oct. 10: The World of Root Vegetables, Oct. 17: From Tough to Tender, Oct. 24: Breads & Spreads for the Holiday Table, Oct. 31 & Nov. 1: Back to Basics–A Classic Thanksgiving
The first class is Founders Day, with favorite recipes from company founder Chuck Williams, including crème brûlée. and is offered on Sunday October 3 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Other classes this month focus on:
- Oct. 10: Root vegetables, including how to select, store and cook an array of roots, from potatoes, carrots and onions to celery root and leeks.
- Oct. 17: Braising, on stovetop, in oven or slow-cooker, or sous vide.
- Oct. 24: Breads and spreads for the holiday table, including no-knead bread, classic dinner rolls, cornbread and focaccia.
- Oct. 31: Classic Thanksgiving made easy.
