Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Free Mammograms to Qualified Dallas Women

Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and Susan G. Komen for the Cure Dallas are working together to provide free screening mammograms to uninsured and underinsured women who live in Dallas County, the Dallas Morning News reports. Their Search Program is designed to remove common barriers that keep uninsured or underinsured women from getting annual mammogram screenings – cost, lack of opportunity, lack of knowledge, fear, language differences and lack of transportation.  Women who are interested fill out an application, and those who qualify get free screening, counseling, education and assessment at the Peggy A. Bell Women’s Diagnostic and Breast Center at Presbyterian Hospital Dallas.free-mammograms-in-dallas The women who qualify also get free round-trip transportation through DART.   For more information or an application, call 214-345-2598.
