Free 2011 TED Conference Talks – March 2 – Dallas

If you are looking for some great thinking, then tune in to some of the famed 18-minute idea talks from the TED conferences, which kicked off with the 2011 event in in Long Beach, California.  It opened on February 28, and runs through March 4. For those who want the experience, special simulcast events are scheduled around the world on March 2.  Part of TEDxLive, the second day of the conference has been made available for free live webcasts at 50 venues in cities such as Singapore, Bangkok, Bucharest, across Europe and the US, and cities in Costa Rica, Colombia, Pakistan, Switzerland, Madagascar, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Sudan.  To find communities with organized events see: http://www.ted.com/tedx/events

This year’s speakers on March 2 include neuroscientist Antonio Damasio, cellist Maya Beiser, filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, Ford’s executive chair Bill Ford, director Julie Taymor (Spider-Man on Broadway, The Tempest), Bill Gates, street artist JR and musician Antony. They will cover themes from Radical Collaboration to Education.  Since 2007, talks from conferences are also available online for free and have been viewed 290 million times.  TED, an acronym for Technology Entertainment Design, brings together scientific pioneers, visionaries, musicians and provocateurs from around the world. Presentations feature tech demos, video and TEDUniversity sessions.
